Valentine’s Day is not for us!

Valentine’s Day is just few days away and have you thinking or gotten anything for your special love one yet? I already have in mind what to give for my DD. You might wondering why my daughter not my DH. Hubby and I Valentine’s Day is just normal day for us, we usually just have a nice dinner at home, no gifts to each other ONLY to our DD. Isn’t it something? One day hubby came home with heart balloon and a big teddy bear I thought it was for me but surprisingly it wasn’t, it was for our DD. From then on we only give Valentine’s gift to our darling daughter.

Anyways, if you are doing special with your love one this Valentine’s Day perhaps surprises her/him for a nice getaway, warmer places like Dallas Texas. I’m sure right now cheap Dallas Texas hotels is easy to find.

It would be nice to re-do our kitchen. Maybe just to make it a little bit bigger so there's more room. When hubby cooks he always take the entire space of the kitchen and leaving me waiting for him when he gets done at least using the sinks. We have the double sinks but it is not enough for both us working at the same time. It really annoys that I have to wait. We did talk about it, however weren’t not sure because of our thinking of moving. But I told him maybe replace a bigger sink; there's many discount kitchen sinks that will help our budget. We’ll take this into consideration for sure just to help the agony of working together in the kitchen.

Camotes Island where I want to be

With our situation right now hubby and I we’re talking moving to a bit warmer place. In a way I’m kind of excited, however, Julie will be the problem because she won’t move out in this state. I know one of her reason is her friends; so, we might let her finish high-school and off we go!

You know, our place in Camotes Island, Philippines would be perfect for me, our shoreline property just beautiful. The only problem hubby and Julie will not move there. They have their reasons and I certainly understands their concerned. But then again, I keep thinking of the beautiful shoreline property. I’ve heard Wilmington, North Carolina has plenty those beautiful shoreline property; I should check out Wilmington NC real estate who knows I might find a property just like what we have in Camotes Island.

Couple days ago when J and I were in the store she saw the tv she always wanted. And she wants me to buy it for her right then, I just laugh at her! She didn’t mind me laughing at her because she knows better. I gave her an option last year new TV or electric guitar; she chooses the electric guitar so end of story.

Seems like I can’t shut up here keep talking about losing weight. Well, as I said I gained so much weight over the year and needed to lose at least 30 pounds. Cut onion without crying

I always in tears while cutting an onion and feel like a baby. When I make onion I ask hubby to cut the onions for me. After watching this video I am hoping I'll be tears free.

Here's some Steps to Chop Onions Without Tears

Use a Sharp Knife
1. Use a very sharp knife when cutting onions. The enzymes are released when cells are broken or crushed; using a sharp knife slices through the onion rather than crushing and thus, fewer enzymes are released.

Chill the Onions
1. Chill your onions in the freezer before cutting them. This reduces the amount of the acid enzyme released into the air. This was found to be the most effective way to reduce tears by the television program Food Detectives.[1]

Don't get the gas in your eyes
1. Wear gas-tight goggles or a mask;
2. Cut the onion next to a strong draft from a fume hood or fan so that the gas is pulled away from your eyes; or
3. Wear contact lenses (easy enough if you wear them anyway) - they create a barrier between the surface of your eyes and the gas.

Absorb the gas in water
1. Cut the onion under water
2. Cut the onion near running water or a cloud of steam (from a kettle or pan of water)
3. Breathe through your mouth (to draw the gas over your wet tongue) or stick your tongue out.

Slow or stop the reaction that makes the gas
1. Put vinegar on the chopping board (the acid denatures the enzyme);
2. Soak the onion in water (the enzyme is denatured by the water-air boundary); or
3. Soak the onion in salt water (the ionic solution denatures the enzyme).

The Candle Method
1. Light a candle and set it near the cutting board before cutting the onion. The gas released by the onion is drawn into the flame of a candle.

Onions are Tubular

1. Because onion "flesh" is tubular in construction - like thousands of tiny tubes side by side, pointing toward the top and bottom of the onion - pointing the tubes away from you while cutting will keep the onion from spraying in your eyes. Of course, a breeze of any kind can send the fine, misty spray toward your eyes, so pay attention to air currents too.

Chewing
1. Chew bread or gum. Many people report that chewing, especially gum, helps avoid tears when cutting onions.

Cut carefully to avoid releasing the enzyme (watch video above)
There are many ways to do this, but the important thing is to avoid cutting the root until you really need to, as this is where the highest concentration of enzymes is located.

Pain free from Plantar Fasciitis

Years ago I had a cyst on my foot and each morning it gives me so much pain. I did go to see a doctor and he gave me some shots I think twice a week to melt the cyst. It did get melted but after a year or so it came back. I think because I didn’t listen to the doctor to avoid wearing high heels. I went back to see the doctor again when I felt the lump and the heel pain each morning. Doctor told me that I had Plantar Fasciitis which causes my morning heel pain. He gave me something like a night splints to help me free from chronic pain each morning. And to be completely free from the chronic pain I need to avoid wearing high-heels. We'll see about that.

Nice table lamp

I was cleaning Julie’s bedroom over the weekend I accidentally knocked her table lamp, I feel bad about it because she really like the table lamp. It is one of a kind thing that we found one of the little stores uptown.

So, now I am going to look for one and I don’t think I can get the exact table lamp but the picture below I hope she will like it. This would look perfect in her bedroom since it’s the same color. It’s kind of little big in her bedroom but if I put on the top of her dresser it would be perfect. I’ll show you guys a picture of her bedroom later.

Seriously, I sure need it especially I get tired of hearing some people telling me that I gained so much weight. I know, I can’t deny it but right now I’m too busy to even think about losing weight. Just past couple of months a friend was telling me how grateful they were to have a travel medical insurance because they got really sick during their cruise. I would take diet pill if I have to. In any rate, I’m thankful to May my friend is a good cook; she can cook any authentic Filipino dish and it’s really good. How I wish I can cook too, but for some reason, how many times I’ve tried it always fail. I meant just doesn’t taste like Filipino food, always tastes like Chinese food, I don’t know why. Today is the saddest day at work. After lunch I saw HR and managements walked in announced the sad news. They are going to let people go. I got panicked in a way I might lose my job. They told us to packed all our personal stuff when they call our name because no one will coming back upstairs; no matter if staying or not. I start packing, most are my personal stuffs. My every dovey-lovely daughter is finally back at home. It another noisy house all over again because sometimes we feel like arguing each other for petty-none-valuable stuff. I do love this girl because we connect with each other. We both love laughing, arguing and shopping. It's another day of Monday baby! LOL and the first day of the week weeeew! When we bought Julie the iMac I was so jealous. How funny to get jealous, I really am, I want to get one too but then again I am hesitant because of all the software I already have.
